The only home of Borneo Pygmy Elephants is shrinking
World Wildlife Fund reported recently that Borneo Island has less then 1,000 pygmy elephants left.
The forest of Sabah, on the northeastern tip of Borneo, is the only home for the elephants.
Forests in Sabah have been shrinking by 10 percent each year for the past four years according to World Wildlife Fund. The areas that these elephants need to survive are the same forests where the most intensive logging in Sabah has taken place.
