38,000 Japanese visitors to Sabah every year

Japanese Consul-General Morita Koichi visited Tawau on 10 August 2007.

He paid a visit to Indonesian Consulate in Tawau and visited the small Japanese community in the district.

Japanese Consul-General Morita Koichi said some 38,000 Japanese visited Sabah annually, with an optimism that the number would eventually increase in near future. He said that tight security in Sabah had made them feel secured visiting the various attractions available in Sabah, such as Tawau surrounding islands.

Morita Koichi also visited Sipidan and Mabul islands from Tawau.[/b]
